Ellis Jackson: The Ligia Exotica
Ellis Jackson:
A man amongst cockroaches.
The King Cockroach.
Ligia Exotica: Don’t let the name fool you, it is his codename and is often referred as the Sea Roach.
He still remembers the name he was given and how thrilled he was at first. His codename he confidently said to himself. But it was short lived as he watched his sister and brother laugh about it.
Then he googled it and now you can understand how this arrogant selfish man never goes by his codename. He would rather people know it was him then an unknown person with an alias.
Many…ok…Ellis would argue this shows he isn’t afraid of anything, but the truth is he hasn’t been trusted with any real work since his dealings in Russia went hmmm…poorly?
It went bad.
He had to run back to the states before he was killed.
Not afraid of anything…heh, right?
Japan had been a fruitful experience for him so far though. He had laid his tentacles on the shore and come up with old allies who had kept up the charade of the warehouse in Ichihara. It still stood as an empty building that housed meeting areas between the underworld and The Octopus and some sleeping areas for if you were staying a bit longer than a quick transaction.
He had gotten a good laugh out of Steve jumping when Sensei snuck up behind him on the roof. It seemed the underground passageways from the old sewer system were still intact. This pleased him greatly because it had been over fifteen years since he had been to Japan.
The time back in Japan had been more about the continuing initiation of his nephew and not any new business. Of course, Ellis enjoys seizing every opportunity that comes his way. He has always had a knack for propping himself up as a powerful member of The Octopus.
Oh, how he had missed the camera.
Could you tell?
He had sent Steve to work as a bodyguard for his new Sensei and thus was left to his own devices.
“It will teach you to learn how to see everything around you,” he had yelled as he drove off in a Taxi from Steve.
The Octopus Statement had just been released, and he couldn’t stop smiling through sips of his Hibiki Japanese Harmony Whisky. He had given all that info to his sister and was even able to edit it if anything was incorrect before he sent it to Clarice.
That was The Marine Biologists first mistake. The second was giving Ellis Jackson the spotlight back in the wrestling business.
It was all for The Family though, Ellis would claim and maybe it was????
Sure.
His phone rang and it was the phone call he had expected.
He placed his drink on the table in front him. Unfortunately, the table would soon have a wet ring as no coasters were inside the room.
He picked the phone up and stared at it. He wiped his face to erase the smile that was there and then answered it. He put it on speaker so he could relax in his chair.
“Sis, how are you, shouldn’t you be sleeping it is like…what 5am there?”
“You know exactly why I am calling you, Sea Roach.”
Oh, that smile faded fast.
“Clarice did a wonderful job on the statement. Hopefully these rating monkeys will leave Steve alone now.”
“Uh huh, you care to elaborate on the change you made?”
He cleared his throat, “I think we need to work outside OUR box. This place is full of dangerous people and unless you want me and JD to come out of retirement, we need to think about people we can trust to have Steve’s back.”
“Oh…OH…so it isn’t just you thinking about yourself?”
“Well…”
She cut him off quickly, “I am sure I can find someone in Russia that can get me in contact with The Red Army.”
His face lost all its color quickly, “such a kidder…right? RIGHT?!?!”
“Don’t forget the mission, Ellis. The Family has strong hopes for you to…turn things around...”
“I think Steve’s recent successes speak for themselves, boss.”
“…Turn things around…for you.”
Ellis seethed at that comment. He quietly put the phone on mute and yelled at the ceiling probably startling all manner of insects back into their crevice homes. He had pushed for the position teaching Steve the way of The Octopus because of his own selfish reasons but he hadn’t thought of the fact he would be under a microscope as well.
“Of course.”
“You understand what I am saying, right?”
“Yes.”
“I will remember you agreed. I and when I say I, I mean the organization is very happy with Steve’s progress so don’t ruin it by being yourself.”
CLICK
She hung up before Ellis could even think of a smart-ass response. He stared at his phone again and took a deep breath as he attempted to calm himself done. Breaking his phone in Japan would not be smart he realized.
“I know what’s best,” he whispered to nobody. He picked his drink back up and took a long sip as he planned out his next move.
